COLORADO CRUSH 16A and Boulder Stars 16U passed the lead back and forth six times on Saturday at Stazio five, but in the end COLORADO CRUSH 16A pulled out a 5-4 win in five innings over Boulder Stars 16U.
Brooke Doumer paced COLORADO CRUSH 16A at the plate. Doumer went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. She doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Lexi Christopher got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed four runs over five innings. Christopher struck out one, walked three and gave up two hits.
Boulder Stars 16U jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
COLORADO CRUSH 16A survived Boulder Stars 16U's surge and put up two runs of its own in the first. COLORADO CRUSH 16A scored on An RBI triple by Jesse Smith and an RBI single by Skylar Higens.
The lead stayed with COLORADO CRUSH 16A after the fourth, when it scored three runs on an RBI double by Christopher and a two-run single by Doumer.
