Despite hit advantage, COLORADO CRUSH 16U drops 4-3 game to Bombers 16U (Manny)

COLORADO CRUSH 16U lost 4-3 in five innings at Wrigley on Saturday, despite outhitting Bombers 16U (Manny) four to three.

Sterling Martin looked sharp on the mound. Bombers 16U managed just three hits off of Martin, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during her 2 2/3 innings of work.

Bombers 16U didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the first inning when it scored on a walk by #15.

Bombers 16U tacked on another three runs in the second. A bases loaded walk scored #33 for the inning's first run.

A two-run fourth inning helped bring COLORADO CRUSH 16U within two. An RBI double by Skylar Higens and an RBI single by Emily Moore triggered COLORADO CRUSH 16U's comeback. Finally, #33 induced an inning-ending fly out from Karlee Arnold.

One run in the top of the fifth helped COLORADO CRUSH 16U close its deficit to 4-3. An RBI single by Lexi Christopher set off COLORADO CRUSH 16U rally. Bombers 16U closed the game out when #33 got Jesse Smith to fly out.
